Grouse Mountain

Grouse mountain offers a nice hike and some attractions once you're on the top, these are some of the photographs I took while hiking up it, and walking around (many got rejected for poor exposure; there was so much sun that day someone had to be helicoptered out by a medical crew)

All your trail are belong to us

This is the sign you are faced with just before you start on the Grouse Grind, a 2.9km hike up grouse mountain. The textual addition really drives the point home.

Grouse birdshow

This little performer was gold. In true spirit of being a young bird, it decided it was too warm to perform the day we were up, so it just flew off moments after this shot, only to be found a good 10 minutes later sitting in the shade on the deck of one of the littles shops.

If you have dense forests, you gotta have owls. And British Columbia has dense forests... and does it ever have owls =)

The Grouse Grind, part one

The Grouse Grind is name fairly accurately. There is no real trail, just a 2.9 kilometer "staircase" running up the mountain!

The Grouse Grind, part two

In some places they had to improvise. Directly to the left of this little bridgelike thingy is a 200 foot sheer vertical drop. Great stuff.

The Grouse Grind, part three

The grind just keeps on grinding =)
